photography workshop

is becoming more of a reality for us this weekend... my darling husband has been chatting with a photographer he knows through work promotions type stuff who is happy to come & give us some tips etc... a few things to iron out e.g. like ensuring he's in the country that weekend...he does lots of different types of photography - people, events, scenery...

if this falls through I hope to do a 'photographic' drive or scavenger hunt type thing to challenge our camera creativity - this is weather dependent though... in the mean time grab your camera manuals & read up about night photography & fireworks for Winter Fest opening night!

If you haven't already & you hope to come you need to either pay via Scrapbook Outletnz (check other posts for the link) or send me an email for my banking details. The full costs are listed in a previous post also - remember there was a reduction to these!

I hope to have a sneak or two of some other workshops planned for this weekend by the start of next week!

With the price drop we also have a numbers limit added in... you need to be paid up with your deposit etc to guarantee a place by Friday the 13th of June (oooooh, scary LOl). You need to pay the full amount before the start of the retreat - Monday 23rd of June is our date for this. Please see the previous post for costs & how you can pay.

These costs cover your accomodation and meals. you will need to bring any special beverages with you - we will have tea, coffee, milo, raro & water on hand. You may wish to bring your favourite snacks too...

With one of our team continuing to be unwell... we are having to 'scale' down what will still be an amazingly creative long weekend! The weekend costs will be 'scaled' down accordingly... I'll let you know when I Know :-)

As I type we are working on an alternative to workshops which will give you some freedom to create what you want to create... when you want to create it!

There will still be fireworks on the Saturday night (as long as the weather's OK) with maybe some champers by firelight after... there will still be some cool creative company, a make & take or two, demo... and if there's any profit it will go to charity (we are working on a charity fundraising alternative).

I have been informed that Stampin Up is coming to this retreat also but more info to come...

I think it's less than 6 weeks away now...

Hey, I'm running a promotions meeting all weekend at our CIS venue for 2008 this weekend... some of the team who arrived early are loving it and agree that the photos on the website don't do it justice!

& the chef, well, I'm married to him LOL (& no he doesn't cook all the time at home), has cooked for heads of government and diplomats and has a London City & Guilds award with distinction & aMedal of Excellence (of which there was only 96 awarded worldwide when he received it)... he's planning something special for the Saturday night along with other yummy treats all the long weekend.

the costs of the weekend that can be found HERE and in the previous post... are for the 'whole' weekend - either 2 or 3 day option & by whole weekend I mean a bed to sleep in (you do need your own sheets, duvet or sleeping bag & pillowcase), Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (BYO snacks) hot drinks, water & RARO (if you need soft drinks etc BYO) but please note that the camp is 'dry' so no alcholic beverages, cropping space and one workshop/class.
On top of all this there will be prizes, giveaways and creativity & new ideas everywhere.
There will be items avaliable for purchase over the weekend also and other workshops or classes that you can attend, make & takes.

June 26th - June 29th 2008You will be staying at Lakeland Park in Queenstown - A weekend of cropping with one class included in full enrolments (2 or 3 days). There will be choices about 'which' class you wish to participate in - will be first in first served. Other classes may be purchased separately also.

Non stop shopping for Paper Craft products - Scrapbooking, Cardmaking, Stamping... from a selection of shops. Meals, access to tea, coffee etc and a special dinner on the Saturday evening are also included in your registration costs.

Goodie Bags, demonstrations and Prizes as well as the opportunity to create for charity and to know that any profits will be going to a charity which will randomly be drawn at our Saturday Evening Dinner.

just a little something up our sleeves.....

Keep the extended weekend of Thursday June 26th through till Sunday June 29th free for an amazing weekend.

This is to be a charity scrapbooking event in Queenstown. There will be the option of Workshops with some pretty cool tutors, a fully catered weekend with the chef 'living in' so expect some gourmet delights... especially on the Saturday evening. We will be using bottom bunks only... unless we have to 'squeeze' you in at the last minute... there will be the option of day passes (your family can organise to come to Queenstown & stay elsewhere for the weekend, they can go exploring & you can come to scrap), crop passes and perhaps workshop only passes too. We don't want to 'pack' your weekend full of workshops, classes & events as we know how precious time to 'just create' is and most of the weekend will be just that.

Further information will be posted here and at Scrapbook Outlet NZ as soon as we have the info to share as costs & many of the finer details are still to be finalised so we can make this an amazing weekend to remember as well as good value for money... & to support a charity which will be selected over the weekend.
